Being a big fan of mythological sagas and stories, I have grown up watching TV adaptions and reading stories about them, there were moments when I tried to imagine the state of mind of particular characters from the epic but sometimes failed to understand their emotional state, perspective, and the feelings while in certain pivotal situations which changed the course of the story. Mythological Monologues book proved to a savior for me as it gave me a new direction and perspective which made me feel the characters of Ramayana and Mahabharata even more than before. The 26 monologues of 26 different characters from the epics is a delight for every mythology fan and reader, they pluck the right strings and show the character in a new light. These poetic monologues are well written and are quite brief, sticking to the point and giving you a great idea about the situation without requiring you to know the story in detail. The 76-page book will prove to be a delight among readers and will help the younger generation to associate themselves with our rich heritage.
The author has done a brilliant job at portraying the characters and giving us a glimpse inside their minds on such iconic moments. Reading each monologue from the book gave me goosebumps and helped me see the character in a new light. The author deserves appreciation for the way she has imagined the monologues, which seem so real and hook you straight up. The monologues are quite short and can be read real quick but they certainly leave a lasting impact. I finished reading the whole book in one sitting and after finishing it was in awe with the experience I had. Will highly recommend Mythological Monologues to people who are into mythology and epic sagas, also to those who enjoy brilliant poetic and imaginative literature, get ready to get your mind blown.
